I checked the web site. That is amazing. So many creative ideas for self reliance are coming out. I hope people try something. It is fun to dig in the dirt and very satisfying to see the little sprouts and know that I will have organic foods at my door step. Congrats on your efforts.

Please reference the book "Wheat Belly". I personally can testify to the addictive power of consuming modern wheat products. Look at the disastrous results to Native American and Native Hawaiian people who consume the Standard American Diet. Then look at historical photos of these same peoples; the difference with the modern is astounding. The native peoples of the 1800's were lean and fit because the were active and consumed their historical foods. Now they die of obesity. The only cure is the paleo diet or something very close. I know I feel better when following a slightly modified paleo diet. For me, that means no grains, dairy, sugars of any type, no processed foods, and no nightshades. This is really difficult for me since I am addicted to and crave the very foods that harm me. I suggest you do your own testing on yourself to find what is most harmful and do the best you can to avoid them.

Lesser known, Ray also released several solo albums that were EXCELLENT! Also Doors never really had a dedicated bass player as Ray Manzarek played the bass parts on keyboard with ONE hand while playing the rhythm and melody. A TRUE GENIUS AND ORGINAL!!!!!! RIP RAY!

Earlier today I posted a series of pics on my face book page. When I tried to upload the one above, it simply would not load up here at STA. I actually had to go in and re-sise, re-frame the guy to post it here because the minute you post on FB, your picture is now the property of FB and any attempt to post it elsewhere is thwarted.
Well I'm pretty proud of that picture I took of the subject I built and even though I'm no professional photographer and the frame was a pure accident of fortune there's no reasonable excuse for FB trying to steal the rights to the property which I alone invented.

In the future any pics I post over at FB will contain a stamp ©.

Hope they get it and I hope you all love the CU ...

i understand the electricity/pump concern. i'm using the hydro with pumps but will keep a 55 gallon bucket premixed with plant food. i'll manually water and let the bottom bucket drain into a collector tank cuz if there is no power there prolly won't be running water. i'll post some picks on the progress later in the season.

here is my hybrid hugelbed. i took two sticks of 16' sheetmetal roofing,cut 3 foot off the ends for the sides and started with about 18" of 4"-6" tree limbs,lots of yard debris(leaves and small sticks),and some sand. i planted red,white,and yellow onions and potatos. i added 4"-6"of compost to the potatos as they grew...so far 3 layers. the metal helped when it was cold as per the sun's heating and there is no runoff from heavy rains. plus it can be covered.

UFOs and Aliens...."the White House statement"

Even though many folks may somewhat feel that they cannot trust our government on many (or, most) issues, at least on this particular issue, it is my feeling that the White House (office of Science and Technology Policy), to the best of its knowledge, is telling the truth when it stated (in 2011):

I also totally agree with my colleague, Tomas Scolarici who said:

"The UFO phenomenon is not a threat to our security.
The same phenomenon neither was a threat for the Sumerians or Romans, or Indians".

"There is no such thing as a cover-up, and the authorities know as little about the nature of the UFO phenomenon as ourselves.
They learned however that the UFO phenomenon is not a threat for our Security".
(Despite the often reported "mischievous", "oppressive", "tricky", "deceptive" nature of the phenomenon.)

Perhaps these could be the reasons why the government cannot officially make any comments, aside from the likelihood that they are unwilling to make any statement that goes beyond our present knowledge of empirical science, going into such areas as "paranormal phenomena" and "beliefs" (including religious beliefs).

Could the phenomenon be a momentary, holographic intrusion from some type of a "parallel s or intelligence"?
Could it be some form of "time-slip", interdimensional "accident"?
We just don't have the answers.

And the government is not in the business of going into these areas!

Could the entire phenomenon be some form of religious manifestations or religious manipulations by a power which we cannot comprehend simply by physical pursuit, a power which apparently is capable of presenting an "instant" (but only temporay) "appearance" or "illusion" of being a physical phenomenon to the observer?

If so, then the government will never make any statement of that nature.
That is not their business!!

Thanks for the video! Skip to 5:40, the guy in the black NORML shirt is seen standing and talking with police officers. He may have handcuffs on, but it is hard to tell. The popo seem to be treating him differently however. At around 5:50 you can see Adam again. It looks like they arrested the two speakers and one person (black shirt guy) from the crowd. All three of these people can be seen in custody starting at 5:30.

Australia's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) has developed a type of genetically engineered (GE) wheat that may silence human genes, which could have truly disastrous health consequences.

Last year, University of Canterbury Professor Jack Heinemann released results from genetic research he conducted on the wheat, which unequivocally showed that molecules created in the wheat, intended to silence wheat genes to change its carbohydrate content, can match human genes and potentially silence them. Heinemann’s research revealed over 770 pages of potential matches between two genes in the GE wheat and the human genome. Over a dozen matches were “extensive and identical and sufficient to cause silencing in experimental systems,” he said.

Experts warned that eating this GE wheat could lead to significant changes in the way glucose and carbohydrates are stored in the human body, which could be potentially deadly for children and lead to serious illness in adults. Yet despite the seriousness of these findings, regulators are ignoring and dismissing such warnings. According to the Institute of Science in Society,10 the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has approved at least five such GE food products already.

Rather than using in vitro DNA modification (which is how Roundup Ready and Bt crops are created), this new breed of genetically engineered crops use a wholly different approach. In vitro DNA modification results in the creation of a new protein, but this new breed is designed to change their RNA content, thereby regulating gene expression within the plant. RNA is one of three major macromolecules, like DNA. Double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) is responsible for regulating more than one-third of human genes. By engineering the plant to produce dsRNA, the plant can be “instructed” to silence specific genes—within itself, and potentially within your body...

(One comment from me here--You better learn to eat without using wheat! It already gives people a multitude of problems, including "wheat belly" and fatty liver, plus others. It is NOT the same wheat we ate 50 years ago. It has been bred to be short, even, and thick so to be more easily harvested, and with more gluten to make bread rise, etc. It DOES have other problems added BESIDES the increased gluten that harms people with gluten sensitivity. Read the book "Wheat Belly" by William Davis, MD.")

YES...Debris from Shawnee has been found in Tulsa.....

And Yes, Vealer it was a big one.....from the videos I saw it looked like one of those 1/4 mile or so WIDE ones that just stayed on the ground taking everything in its wake...even the grass! THOSE are the scary ones.

The swinging tail ones aren't nearly as scary as the ones that just are a mmile wide and hug the ground sucking everything in it's path.

Conditions are ripe for another day of bad weather....So, please keep the OK and KS people in your thoughts and prayers as we proceed into the day/night.

My only objection to hydroponic methods is the use of electricity for the pumps. I decided to use a direct planting method into potting soil enhanced with organics. So far so good.
