MARS SPIRIT IMAGE: STEEL BLUE REFLECTIVE METALLIC OBJ *PIC*

This interesting and strange shaped object was photographed by the Mars Spirit Rover on mission days Sol 75 through Sol 80 and can be seen in several images from slightly different positions.

The image was processed by combining the Red Green Blue filtered images to produce a full color image.

On the edge of the crater there appears to be a steel blue metallic object reflecting sunlight. The object does not look like a rock or any part of the Lander pieces, yet it seems to be metallic looking in nature. No other objects I have seen look anything like this one or is quite the same color. It stands out clearly from the landscape as a unique object. I am really not sure what to call this but is suffices to say it looks like it could be an intelligently machined part of extraterrestrial origin.
