I agree with much of what you say in your post here, however I do not feel that your condemnation of Thomas Jefferson is warranted or an accurate statement of his intent or actions, in fact quite the opposite.

Jefferson was an advocate for Indians, who respected them greatly and who cried at the mistreatment they received. It was Andy Jackson who declared it was the white man's destiny to rule the continent.
