VANDALS SMASH MONUMENT THAT MAY HOLD KEY TO HOLY GRAIL (STA BREAKING NEWS and ARCHIVES)

Vandals attack old stone carving
May 20, 2004, 15:20
Vandals have smashed a monument that could hold the key to finding the Holy Grail in the grounds of Shugborough Hall stately home, near Stafford.
A gang of yobs climbed to the top of the 250-year-old Shepherd's Monument and kicked off 10 sea shell-shaped finials.
When they were disturbed by gardeners the gang ran off towards Great Haywood.
The priceless monument features a mysterious code that may be the key to finding the Holy Grail.
Last week a team of codebreakers started work on trying to crack the code on the stone monument which was built around 1748.
The attack on Tuesday has been reported to police who are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
