Sad to See Sears In Such A Condition (STA BREAKING NEWS and ARCHIVES)

by Theresa @, Thursday, May 11, 2017, 17:43 @ chazzz

Sears here in Tulsa, was in a 2 story beautiful art deco building, that Sears built.

It was torn down and replaced with a newer Sears building a few years ago.

Now, that one is being closed.

When I was a child, before the cursed malls appeared, it was a REAL treat to go to Sears.

There was a huge escalator that took you to the second floor.

In the middle of the first floor was a fresh chocolate candy store that you could smell in the entire store. Of course I always got some chocolate as my Mom loved it as much as I did.

It was a beautiful old department stores. Department stores were great.

The malls killed them.

You could get everything you needed or wanted there. Furniture, appliances, cosmetics, clothes and CHOCOLATE and much more.

It was such a real treat as a child to visit. I have photos from every year where there I was on Santa's lap.

Oh no, I'm getting nostalgic... Don't even get me started on the smell when you passed the Wonder Bread factory.....

I bet Catfan is the only one here who knows what I'm talking about, although you may have memories for something similar in your town.

Carry me back....
