THIS IS A BEYOND SERIOUS SITUATION (STA BREAKING NEWS and ARCHIVES)

Theresa is in the worst circumstances with few options available to her. She is on the verge of being homeless, and truly needs all the help she can get, and then some.

Theresa bought her house in 1996 with the understanding that the mortgage was a thirty year, fixed rate type. Unbeknownst to her, in the tiny print near the end of the contract, was a clause for a balloon payment. This only was finally made known to her very recently when her mortgage was sold and the new owner informed her of the clause. That payment is now due, and she has no way to pay it.

Theresa has been disabled for over fifteen years due to insulin dependent diabetes that damaged her eyesight and caused lower leg neuropathy; plus, she has a mangled back from poor quality disc surgery. Because she was unable to be employed, and was in bed most of the time, she used her skills to establish Surfing the Apocalypse supported by donations as a way to stay mentally active and generate income. Her low income over the years has precluded getting adequate medical care in a timely manner. Also, due to Oklahoma law, she has not qualified for Medicaid, so she has been stuck living with what she could get on credit or for free.

STA donations worked well until the financial crash of 2008 when they began to decline, until now, they are nearly non-existent. She has resorted to selling possessions for living expenses, but there is little remaining to sell. Her health has continued to deteriorate such that she is falling without warning making trips to the bathroom dangerous. Falls she has sustained have given her a broken arm at the shoulder which made computer use near impossible last year for many months (still regained good use of that arm). Recently, a fall caused broken bones in a foot for which she has had no medical treatment.

The damaged back gives her overwhelming pain. She has no family to whom she can turn. Friends have helped some to support her meager living expenses, but she is now desperate for huge help to prevent her from ending up being homeless. Losing the STA site is only days away.

Theresa is the most generous person I know. She has always been willing to share what little she had with someone she believed was in greater need. Now, she truly needs your help. Please look into your heart and imagine how frightened you would be if you faced this situation. Prayers are always welcome, but she needs your financial support now. Be a blessing to her and help save her.

I have done all I can and am greatly frustrated at not being able to do more. This is not grandstanding; it is fact. If she doesn't get the help she needs now, it is the end of STA and probably her too.
