i know how you feel Gimp, the voting public all over the world
are disillusioned over the political party system.
i made myself a simple rule a couple of elections ago not to
vote for any party that promotes capitalism and guess what
i have no one to vote for anymore, even the socialists are
in name only now. Direct democracy is a possible way out of this,
at least we will only have ourselves to blame if our representative
betrays his promises and he can easily be gotten rid of next time round.

On the other hand i agree with Baconbits, i want to enjoy life
and am going about doing so as if there are many years to come,
i´m making long term plans, chasing my dream, looking forward
to a supposed bright future for me and mine.
