NO NURSING HOME NEEDED (STA BREAKING NEWS and ARCHIVES)

No nursing home for us. We'll be checking into a Holiday Inn!

With the average cost for a nursing home care costing $188.00 per day, there is a better way when we get old and too feeble.

I've already checked on reservations at the Holiday Inn. For a combined long term stay discount and senior discount, it's $59.23 per night. Breakfast is included, and some have happy hours in the afternoon.

That leaves $128.77 a day for lunch and dinner in any restaurant we want, or room service, laundry, gratuities and special TV movies. Plus, they provide a spa, swimming pool, workout room, lounge and washer-dryer, etc. Most have free toothpaste and razors, and all have free shampoo and soap. $5 worth of tips a day you'll have the entire staff scrambling to help you.

There's a city bus stop out front, and seniors ride free. The handicap bus will also pick you up (if you fake a decent limp).

To meet other nice people, call a church bus on Sundays.

For a change of scenery, take the airport shuttle bus and eat at one of the nice restaurants there. While you're at the airport, fly somewhere. Otherwise, the cash keeps building up.

It takes months to get into decent nursing homes. Holiday Inn will take your reservation today. And you're not stuck in one place forever -- you can move from Inn to Inn, or even from city to city.

Want to see Hawaii? They have Holiday Inn there too.

TV broken?
Light bulbs need changing?
Need a mattress replaced?
No problem . . . they fix everything, and apologize for the inconvenience.

The Inn has a night security person and daily room service. The maid checks to see if you are ok. If not, they'll call an ambulance . . . or the undertaker.

If you fall and break a hip, Medicare will pay for the hip, and Holiday Inn will upgrade you to a suite for the rest of your life.

And no worries about visits from family. They will always be glad to find you, and probably check in for a few days mini-vacation. The grandkids can use the pool. What more could I ask for?

So, when I reach that golden age, I'll face it with a grin.

**not sure as if this is current due to the ever increasing cost of hyper-inflation, but frankly do YOU wanna really know what it might be NOW.?**

The average costs of nursing home insurance:

Today, the average cost of a nursing home facility is around $70,000-$100,000 every year. Computed daily, these costs around $192 per day.The amount of course varies depending on the area.

Nursing home care insurance is actually a type of healthcare insurance which includes nursing home, skilled nursing, assisted living facility, custodial care, or in-home care costs for persons who are 65 years old and above. Usually, Medicare, disability insurance, and traditional medical insurance plans do not include other kinds of long term care.

If a person qualifies for long term care, he or she will be arecipient of a benefit which ranges from $100-$500 daily. This would depend ofcourse on the type of coverage chosen. As long as the person is able to pay the insurance premium, the coverage is guaranteed. Long term care insurance can really help people. If you don’t have one, you will be obliged to pay for the nursing home and other expenses which can be really very expensive.

This type of insurance would cost $1,000-$3,000 a year in long term care premiums for a 65 year old person. Though expensive, it is more affordable compared to the $70,000-$100,000 annual cost of long term care. However, the earlier a person pays for the insurance premiums, the less expensive it is. Of course, there are a lot of factors to be considered such as coverage, inflation protection, benefits, etc. Today, new government policies and tax benefits are being crafted to help long term care insurance more affordable to people.

Im not sure of ALL policies, when my fathers neighbors wife ended up in a home, they HAD this kind of insurance, BUT they had to have it at LEAST 8 years to keep it current and when it was time to use it whenever one or both decided to end up there that ALL requirements would be met for THIS policy to work the way it was intended without any hassles or screw-up or etc... etc... 8 years BEFORE you use it..

The should be a funny piece.. and it is... to a point, but............

This is FAR truer then you might think (at least here in the states).. When my mother ended up in a Continuing Care Retirement home... it cost 5000$ a MONTH for it... and Im here thinking a SKILLED private nurse and staying at a 4 star high rise spacious apartment complex WITH all the luxuries that frankly she couldnt get at home for THAT price.. seems to me like the "Big Deal Of The Day".. She would of been treated like a queen.. christ.. what WOULD you get for that price each month as your mother or father re-cooped from a illness or continuous care.? NOBODY lives in THAT kind of fashion, BUT, there were other people there ALL living together while the this so called "Continuing Care Retirement home" was racking 5000$ a month for EACH person...

Buts completely bad enough.. whats was worse was the sitting thereof.. the design of the building hasnt changed in the last 40 - 50 years... dark, depressing and the smell... yeah, ok... the smell would be these people pooping and peeing their pants... BUT what your actually smelling... guess.. its the smell of DEATH.. and as body parts start to shut down from old age or diseases it wil start to secrete an oder, one of the 10 stages of death... dont forget that next time you walk into a retirement home..

And my mother deserved FAR better treatment that... seriously... BUT... you are FORCED to play by THEIR rules just where AND how your parents or other relatives are being "care" of..

Last thing... you are being rocketed in that direction as well.. Not unless you believe the The Who while your singing... "Hope I die before I get old"....
