REPUBLICANS GO AFTER SOCIAL SECURITY ON FIRST DAY ON NEW CONGRESS (STA BREAKING NEWS and ARCHIVES)

Hello Cliff, and wonderful to see you post again and add your 2 cents!

Yes, one could say, "What do they expect them to do".

A sad reality is this: Even if the big change did not happen with so many losing their seats in Congress; I am quite positive and sure that this "move" on Social Security would have taken place regardless.

I kinda look at this article as perhaps saying, "SEE, THE REPUBS ARE AFTER YOUR MONEY". Like the Democrats were not after our money also!?!?!?

It tries to continue the left-right paradigm; and by this time in history, I am hoping most folks see through that fairy tale myth. They BOTH are out to get you, and your wealth. Period, End of story.

Just that with a single party in power, which ever it may be, the chances for a rapidly moving draconian society is even greater.

Because lets face it, history shows that neither party is REALLY out for the common man, or for the good of the country. They are mostly out for the good of their own personal pocket books and wallets. Not to mention the ego stroking euphoria that wielding powerful positions gives them.

The last person in power who I believe actually cared for the common man, and TRIED to improve his lot in life, got killed in Dallas in 1963; but that is just my opinion, others may vary.

Let me say this in closing.

Cliff, it has been an honour to know you over these years, and to share posting of information together on the internet. So many over the years here at STA have warmed my heart, sparked my mind, and brought growth to my soul and mind. Heck, I even wound up marrying a writer for STA.

We have known many to come and go, some because of passing away; and others seemed to fade into the night. Not knowing of their destiny or fate. Perhaps overcome with sadness due to the state of the world. Others may have fallen ill, too feeble to write anymore. It is sadness that strikes me when I think of those we have seen, and then go.

I am glad that you occasionally add your wit and wisdom to this site. And to so many others whom I have had the privilege to share this blog with, and gather their insight and wisdom along the way. I will not list their names, as I am afraid I would forget one, and possibly offend someone unintentionally. ALL who contribute to STA have been a blessing to me in some way, or many ways.

This coming year will bring many challenges to our small internet community, and the world in general. I pray that a TRUE leader may emerge, whose wisdom and courage are up to the task at hand to reverse the death spiral we all seem to be in, led by mental midgets in power.

Greetings my old friend. And I truly hope we have the pleasure to meet in person someday, and share our memories, and "solve the worlds troubles" over a cup of tea" or perhaps something a bit stronger..LOL.
