I'M A SCROOGE ABOUT NEW YEAR (STA BREAKING NEWS and ARCHIVES)

As early as adolescence, I refused to participate in New Year's celebrations. The whole thing seems utterly ridiculous to me. Why celebrate changing the calendar on an annual basis?

Of course, I realize that I'm being inconsistent because I do celebrate my birthday for having survived another year. Perhaps New Year is a way to celebrate humanity's survival of another year.
