FD: TAXI BURST INTO FLAMES AFTER HITTING POLE (STA BREAKING NEWS and ARCHIVES)

PHOENIX - Authorities say a taxi cab went up in flames after hitting a pole near 40th Street and Interstate 10 in Phoenix.

Phoenix fire Capt. Benjamin Santillan said crews from Phoenix and Tempe received a call around 1:30 p.m. for a motor vehicle collision.

The caller stated that a taxi lost control off the freeway and hit a pole.

When crews arrived, they found a small taxi had crashed into a pole with three people inside.
