HOW TO: CAST IRON SKILLET NON-STICK AND LASTS A LIFETIME (STA BREAKING NEWS and ARCHIVES)

by STANews @, Friday, September 26, 2014, 16:30 @ Gnosine

Hi Gnosine,
This looked so good! My family used to do a lot of camping years ago and it just seems food tastes so much better in the open air! Also, I would take a can or two of biscuits, melt butter in the skillet and watch them raise. Flip them now and then and enjoy! Of course, if you are hiking, you can't carry all that stuff.

We may have camped a lot, but we really didn't rough it that much. Where we went, we had to truck all our stuff by boat to the campsites and by the time we got everything up to the site and the tent raised, we were whipped! So, sandwiches and salad for supper but the larger meals began the next day.

One weekend of the summer was for grandchildren only and there were only two rules. If walking near the water have a vest on and when we said it was bedtime, no arguments or you wouldn't be asked back the next year. We had no problems! About 8 grand kids went each year and they still talk about it! The ones who were big enough to water ski and wanted to learn, we taught them, otherwise they swam in the cove, fished and played with an unsinkable canoe. One year, a small sailboat was brought. We all had fun trying to learn to sail.
