I had a bout of IBS last winter. After some research and a few books on dietary changes, I began using the recommendations and had some improvement. But, the big change came when I started using the best probiotic I can find. I have used it previously for another reason and knew it to be excellent. Because of the cost, I decided to just take one capsule per day. I am happy to report that after five months of using it, I have no more symptoms and can even eat some wheat again without a problem.

I don't make any money on this so here is the info. The product is Body Biotics and I buy it from Sacred Mountain It contains the miraculous probiotic, Bacillus Subtilis. It was first found by the German army doctors in North Africa during WW2. They began using it on their troops after seeing what it did for the indigenous desert peoples. It used to be readily available in the US, but the FDA put the kibosh on it decades ago. I understand it is still available in other countries.

This product is careful in the claims they make to steer clear of the FDA police so you will have to search online for info from other countries. I have tried a few other brands that claim they contain it, but did not get similar results, so this is the only one I can recommend.

Just for safety sake, I still mostly follow an IBS protocol diet. I am ready to give the above referenced article's recommendations a try. As Kellogg and Post said in the early 1900's, life and death begin in the intestines.

It is important for you to regularly take a good probiotic, especially if you drink chlorinated tap water. The chlorine destroys the good bacteria in you gut needed for digestion and immune system function. I have had good results from Nature's Way and Vitacost products.
