Here in the US, most obese are the lower income folks for various reasons. I had a dear friend 25 years ago who had serious health challenges and really low income. She fed her family a lot of the "dollar menu" type items because they were cheap, filling and did not require her to shop and cook. It was sad, but it was what she could do.
