COINCIDENTALLY
Yesterday was a weird day here, many odd things occurred
and one of them was tragic.
It was referendum day on constitutional changes.
It became something much more than that.
During the night there were hundreds of earthquakes
in the north of the country.
The largest was 5.6.
This is the most activity of the sort in
that region for at least 20 years.
No major damage, but a few broken windows and startled people.
This is ongoing, see here.

It was surprising to me that no mention was made
on any official site about a meteor exploding.
At around 3pm a super light aircraft carrying two people
crashed on the Reykjanes peninsula, not far from where
that "meteor" came down. Both men died on impact
authorities say, but they remain secretive about what
caused the crash, claim they are still investigating it.
Finally, last night many people called the emergency services
alerting them of yellowish lights in the sky close to Reykjavík.
The coast guard and the rescue units were called out, for there
was suspicion those lights might be emergency flares sent out
by a boat in distress. When they found no vessel in trouble,
they concluded that the lights were party lanterns.
This has become the standard explanation for unexplained lights,
kinda like swamp gas used to be.
