Seeing how this article is a clear case of warmongering.
A few signs :

The article mentions "a multi-national fleet", when it is really only the British and the USA. We know what happened the last time those 2 banded together and called it an "international" effort. Can you say Imperialism ?
Clearly a form of propaganda to convince the citizens in those 2 countries that the whole world is behind the coming action.

The article also is doing it's best to point out how overwhelming the military might of the fleet is compared to that of Iran.
"The multi-national naval force in the Gulf includes three US Nimitz class carrier groups, each of which has more aircraft than the entire complement of the Iranian air force."
Those kinds of carriers have around 90 planes onboard, that includes support planes and helicopters. So the actual number of combat planes is much lower.
It is more likely that those 3 ships combined might have a slight advantage in number of combat planes over the Iranian airforce. But ... Iran has massive numbers of airdefence systems, not in the least the Russian S-300 (and also rumored the S-400 systems which were specifically designed to counter stealth aircraft) and which are considered by Jane's Defence Weekly to be far superior to the Patriot system. Also Iran still has American F-14's, French F-1's, Russian Mig-29's and their own domestically built fighterplanes. Add to that the fact that both Israelly and US intelligence agencies are quite convinced that Iran has bought Russian SU-30's which is a thrust-vectored plane that can easily go head to head with F-22's, and also Chinese J-10's and JF-17's.

So yes, this entire article has the stench of war-propaganda in my opinion.
Telling the people how weak and inferior the enemy is and how it will be a walk in the parc.
Which does seem to indicate that there is a good chance this IS going to happen soon.
