DO YOU ACTUALLY THINK

We live in 'the land of plenty'.

The key to any and all of it is KNOWLEDGE.

What I suggest is more than one approach.
Firstly, we should all be ready to fend for ourselves
in the event of the *interruption* of our normal way of life.

That includes the Coleman stove, fuel for it etc.

I suspect there may be gas to be had for several years,
perhaps longer, even with major interruption.

Long term, one must ponder the possibilities.

Those possibilities include 'going primitive'.
I am all for that. But, not where the need is not
there.

I would suggest storing canned freeze dried food.
It needs WATER to be consumed, but it has a shelf
life of 30 plus years.

The key, as I see it, is to planning ahead so as to
be able to weather the 'storm'.

The 'storm' may be just that... an ice storm, a gale,
a Tornado. If you survive the hit, then you need to be
able to live afterwards.

Everyone should be able and ready to mange for at
least two weeks without electricity without any great
difficulty. If you can't.... well, it is your own fault.

Now, while things are 'normal' is the time to learn
what we can, stock up on what we can, ( all the while,
as you say, being REALISTIC about it).

You are absolutely correct... everyone should bone up
on local botanicals. There is a virtual library at everyones
fingertips.

Put 'indigenous medicinal plants' in a search engine and
go to town.

I fear there will be many, many people to die from
PUBLIC EDUCATION if things go too far South on us.

It is a daunting task, learning how to survive, but one
must survive the first week in order to survive the first
year.

Where we are NOW, living in a 'normal' world, is
Plan A.

Plan B should be preparation for up to a week of
no electricity, no communications.

Plan C should be preparing for a month of deprivation.

After that, Your Long Term Survival Plan must kick in.

It is up to the individual. We all must learn, learn,
LEARN if we are to survive in this World.
