COUPLE OF VIDS BY NLP FOUNDERS, BANDLER AND GRINDER

by lamamaba @, Friday, August 17, 2012, 15:37

I tried to find a good vid about re-framing ones reality but haven't found a decent one yet.... I was introduced to NLP by my therapist in 1985 and found a lot of their techniques to be very helpful....

FROGS INTO PRINCES is a good book for beginning the exploration of NLP.... it is a science of the mind.. how it works, and how to get the mind to work for you instead of against you.... as I said, I have found a lot of the techniques to be very useful.. re-framing, anchoring, etc.

There are also techniques for dealing with "problem people" in your life... one example is:

There was a person who felt she had it all over me... wanted to steamroll me at any opportunity... one day, after having studied NLP, and having learned this technique, I told her a story.... I said... "Hey, it is really funny, but I met this woman in the restroom the other day.. she was very aggressive and wanted to steam roll me with her energy... and I looked at her and said "You don't impress me at all".... Needless to say... heh... it all changed after that... manipulative, I know... but better than popping her one in the eye... lol

Neurolinguistic Programming is what we experience every day... through TV, radio, newspapers, etc...

NLP is the process of undoing this programming...the study of language and how it relates to the mind and therefore to the reality we are creating through our thinking...

An example of a simple reframe..... A mother is stressed out because her husband and children keep messing up her carpet and floors with footprints and traces of dirt... she is beside herself because of this "intrusion" on her housekeeping... re-framed.... these are the people you love most in the world... their tracks are confirmation of that love.. they are there because they love you.. Which reminds me of an old Winnie the Pooh episode where he had just gotten a new carpet and didn't want his friends to come in and mess it up... until he realized his friends were more important than the cleanliness of his new rug....
