NZ: CHRISTCHURCH TAKES A MAG. 4.0 EQ.

A magnitude-4.0 earthquake has rattled Christchurch.

The quake hit at 12.10pm, was 10 kilometres deep and centred 10km east of the city.

It was quickly followed by dozens of people reporting on social networking site Twitter that they felt the shake.

People spoke of their fright at the "rattley" shock, with buildings shaking.

Twitter user Jeff Ballweg said his coffee "splashed straight out of his cup". <SNIP>
