GROWING POTATOES

Grow your potatoes UP also! I had a half barrel and kept filling with about 3" of soil when plants grew taller. I added the same height as the half barrel in height with a plastic container with the bottom cut off. My spud plants are just clearing the top of that plastic container now.
I also bought one of the plastic grow bags from the garden shop and it is almost to the top with soil too.
One thing you should check is the soil Ph for any type of crop you plant and get a listing of what they like best - a neutral, an alkaline, of an acidic Ph level and then try and amend the soil to adjust for whatever you need.
