THE WORLD THAT WAS

by Old_Ponter @, Sunday, May 20, 2012, 03:49

Greetings:

The world of Old_Ponter:

I have been feeling nostalgic, reminiscing over the times I had when I lived in the "bush." It was an exciting time, but not every day, of course, flying in helicopters, being air chauffered to the job sites, in the middle of no where. Got caught in all types of weather conditions, stormy, snowy, rainy, freezing rain, fog ... and scary moments because of mechanical problems while in flight -had to make a few "unscheduled landings" and another scary moment because of a drunk (as a skunk from the previous night) pilot who forgot to fuel up ... grrrrr..... I kept my eye on the fuel gauge after that, from that day forward, you can bet....

Here, I is, the passenger, when I was a younger, in the hellicopter, creepy, eh?

Here was the rush-hour traffic on the way to work...

Here is more rush hour traffic...

And a sight one does not want to see, a crashed airplane in the sparse, boggy land....

And in the Fall, a walk in the forest...
