MARS: CRATER WALLS MODIFIED WITH GEOMETRY & STRUCTURES *PIC*

by Storm, Thursday, May 03, 2007, 14:47

Hello All,

This is a new section from a Mars Global Surveyor image that has some interesting features. The crater in the upper right corner has some unusual sidewalls, wouldn't you say? The walls of many craters in the full image do not have your usual random rough, blast and worn edges. In fact, it looks like the walls have been modified, straightened, cut and possible structures have been added.

The full image you can download from the link below is of rather poor quality. However, after the image is resized larger and you adjust the brightness and contrast, the details can be seen better. There are many such craters that look to be modified with constructed walls, excavated cut-outs and have had other objects added.

The rest of the surface also seems to have what look like structures in places. If you look closely and follow along the light markings, you can see evidence of geometry, ramps, paths, levels, and straight and cornered structures that look intelligently constructed.

Good Luck All,
Norman Bryden
