INCOMING!

And now it begins....my husband, Nergal, was driving between Barstow and Baker, California on Sept 16 2004 late at night. It is extremely dark and barren in that part of the world. Out of nowhere, he saw a meteor/bolide come into the atmosphere. It was so close, he thought it was going to hit the highway in front of him. He described it this way -- holding out a regular yellow pencil, maybe 4 inches long; held at arm's length and at an angle where the lead is perhaps a 45 degree angle, higher than the eraser; from the metal band to the lead, the bolide was brilliant green which might indicate copper; the eraser was red and the place that normally held the metal band of the pencil was invisible. he said he's never seen anything like this. i've never heard of this description either. but it must have been terrifying. eresh
