Having this weird insight, maybe a DNA thing, flashbacks to a vision of fur-bearing ancestors...

A long time ago the gods were less anthropomorhic, more elemental.

Hurricane Ivan would have been a god.

What kind of monument would one build to such a god, especially if memory were tweaked by, say, a global flood?

An immense mound?

A mound would not only be a religious structure but practical too, just in case the waters were to rise again...
