I don't live there any more so I can't check anything out locally. Any of you Readers who can add anything, let me know - email link above.

So. Cal. Airport Problems Could Affect Here
============================================

We have some breaking news to bring you right now. Major problems for Southern California airports could affect flights here at McCarran Airport.

Palmdale Regional Airport in Palmdale, California lost radio transmission capabilities with high altitude planes -- meaning most commercial flights. As a result all flights in Southern California were grounded and all flights headed there were told to turn back.

Eyewitness News will update you on this story as we get more information.

Re: ALL SOUTHERN CALIF FLIGHTS GROUNDED!

Received these from a contact in Calif.

Have no idea if it is connected to the solar flare, but flight traffic from Oakland (possible) and Los Angeles has been grounded by a radio failure at Palmdale.

Planes are not being allowed to take off from LAX, Ontario, or LA area airports, all calls are being referred to the FAA.

Just heard the notice may go as far north as Oakland. J

First reports are that it was a power grid failure in Nevada that has shut down high altitude radar and flights from the west coast. J
