The Hmongs in my classes at Fresno City College, 1980s, had a calmer philosophy about natural disasters....
They said that back in Laos every year they built their platform houses, and every year a big wind came and blowed them down, so they built em again, took a few days, no big deal.
Could civilization be the disease and hurricanes the cure?
