STATE OF EMERGANCY...TROOPS IN FLORIDA...LOOK OUT... *PIC*
FLORIDA IN A STATE OF EMERGANCY...NATIONAL GUARD CALLED IN.
Anyone else find it interesting that all this is going on in Florida? I remember reading about the comet and how it is supposed to hit the ocean and then send a catastrophic wave crashing into Florida. Also interesting is heavy smoke and fog shut down a portion of Interstate 95 yesterday...they said it was so thick with fog and smoke that you couldn't see. Funny the pic from the crash doesn't show enough smoke that I would shut the road down. The main smoke is comming from the crash site. Strangly enough they shut the road down right around Nasa. (Are they moving something?) 1000 people evacuated...around Cape Canaveral. I guess it just seems like why call the National Guard in now? It has been a ongoing problem that has been being delt with. Seems to me that someone at Fox is trying to make it worse to justify the troops. Funny how their numbers change...Take a look at how they go up.

More than 2,200 wildfires have burned over 44,000 acres in Florida since Jan. 1, according to the state Division of Forestry.
A brush fire that consumed about 5,300 acres over three days in northern Brevard County was intentionally set, officials said Saturday. The blaze forced authorities to close Interstate 95 twice last week.

At least one home was destroyed and about 8,000 acres scorched by the fires that began Friday and flared up through the weekend, officials said.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,194760,00.html NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - Lightning strikes could possibly spark more flames in areas of Florida where wildfires have consumed more than 8,000 acres and destroyed three homes, officials and forecasters said Tuesday.
Smoke from wildfires in Volusia and Brevard counties cleared up enough Tuesday for parts of Interstate 95 to reopen to traffic, but forecasters didn't expect rain showers to help calm the flames very much.
The rain falling in some areas was expected to total up to a quarter of an inch through the early afternoon, National Weather Service meteorologist Scott Spratt said.
"It's not a lot of rainfall. It may temporarily improve the situation for a day or two. Beyond a day or two it may not have any consequence," Spratt said.
"We still have significant wildfire conditions and need a tremendous amount of rain to get back to normal levels," New Smyrna Beach spokeswoman Shannon Lewis said Tuesday.
The fire was about 70 percent contained early Tuesday, but authorities warned it was far from under control. Two firefighters were treated for minor injuries.
"There's a lot of fuel all the way around the edge of this fire. If the wind changes, you can have fire again, fast," said Volusia County Sheriff Ben Johnson.
