Update from Mississippi
Hi All, the guys i know just got back from project in Mississippi and they took viedo tape of the gulph coast .. wow it is truly unbelievable
there was one street with just rows of pilons that used to have houses atop them
on many of the streets there foundations with nothing left on them - one street had a chiminey from a fireplace that was it - with a sign on it that said how many dead with a fema number . many of the houses had fema numbers on them - one of their cordinators with them said that it took fema six weeks to set up a trailer - a single trailer
one row of homes were all pushed into each other like a freight
train
there were tent cities everywhere - people just setting up a tent on their property just to show it was their property
some of the pictures were of houses that had just a frame left and the door to their house still in a tree from the twentysix foot rush of water
These people need so much help -if we can we should do all we can to help them get thru - almost no one except for those in million dollar houses are covered by insurance because only flood insurance will be covered and most did not have seperate flood riders
noticed on many of the trees or poles or whatever was left sign after sign of how many were no longer with us written on it
so many homeless and just devastated
two signs that stood out in my mind on destroyed properties were :
Katrina will not steal our joy
grace got us to here - grace will take us the rest of the way
peace
